This piece represents the internal guiding light we all have. Stylized in the traditional Showa Japanese Lanterns that would decorate posts and would be used as handheld lightsource for the individual. 
 
I wanted to use these "barrel" cut garnets in a lantern themed piece. My goal was to create something that allowed the light to illuminate the garnets from the inside with light behind it. 
 
I accented the base with 11 Black Spinel 3mm stones. The Lantern itself is solid sterling silver.
